When is proxy voting not allowed?

Proxy voting is not allowed in the following instances:

  • Committee elections
  • Engaging a body corporate manager
  • Engaging a service contractor
  • Authorising a person as a letting agent
  • Any motion that is decided by secret ballot
  • In committee meetings
  • To engage a person as a body corporate manager

In a large scheme (100 lots or more) the proxy form must be in 24 hours before the meeting, otherwise you can present your proxy at the meeting prior to the meeting commencing.

You may only vote on a motion for an ordinary or special resolution if all contributions levied by the owners corporation in respect of your lot or any other monies outstanding, at the date of this notice, have been duly paid before the commencement of the meeting.
