FAQs
What is a proxy and who can you make a proxy?
A proxy is a person who represents another voter at a general meeting. A proxy ensures that your personal vote counts even when you cannot attend the meeting.
As an owner, you can delegate your voting rights to another person, who then becomes your proxy –this is called proxy voting. It cannot be transferred to a third person.
You can make any person their proxy, including your tenant or another member of your strata committee and sometimes even your strata manager.
If you then decide to attend the general meeting you can decide to vote in person instead and your proxy will automatically have no effect.
